MAY 16, 2020
About a year and a half ago, I was asked by Mallory and Josh to be their wedding photographer. I was so excited to be a part of their day because I knew what a wonderful event it would be. Every time I spoke with Mallory at her engagement session, bridal portraits, and all the meetings in between, I would see her face light up as she went over all the details of their wedding. She happily told me about her Cinderella blue inspiration, the perfect flowers they had chosen, and excitedly pulled out her phone to show her beautiful tulle gown complete with sparkles intertwined in the layers. I could tell that it was going to be a breath taking event. You’ll see below that she truly looked like a princess on their wedding day.
As time moved on we all felt the pressure being built up around how this pandemic would effect their special day. They had to make a few hard decisions as a couple, but ultimately decided it was safe if they took the necessary precautions for the safety of their guests. They also had the brilliant idea of live streaming their ceremony, so their loved ones who couldn’t attend would still be a part of such a noteworthy day. Family and friends all pitched in to make their wedding as special as they could for them. It was inspiring and heart warming to see such an immense amount of effort put into ensuring Josh and Mallory had a beautiful wedding day to remember.
May 16, 2020 was full of joy and celebration for these two. Everyone rallied together for Josh and Mallory, and excitement was in the air by the time I arrived. While everyone scurried around finishing those little tasks before the ceremony, I had a few moments with Josh and Mallory. They hadn’t seen each other yet, but I remember thinking how both of them were so calm, collected, and happy during their portraits. You could see the result of two people who had trusted God with their plans, and could sense the peace they share as a couple because of that. It was a delightful day with hints of Cinderella blue and fairytale accents throughout, and most importantly you left with the sense that dreams really do come true!
Josh and Mallory, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to be a part of your special day. You have been an absolute joy to serve, and I hope you enjoy some of the highlights from your special day. Enjoy!
Mallory was absolutely stunning in her bridal gown. The dress had actual sparkles throughout the layers of tulle, and when she walked the light followed her every move.
I am always a huge fan of a first look between the father and bride. It is always such a sweet moment to have captured.
As a couple it was important to them to take a moment and pray before their ceremony. They wanted to save their first look for when Mallory walked down the aisle, so we made sure to keep Mallory behind the wall and Josh kept his eyes closed as they prayed.
The pastoral staff at Teays Valley Baptist Church and groomsmen all gathered around Josh for prayer right before the ceremony!
MR. AND MRS. WESTFALL!!!!
Mallory’s father and grandpa hand built this entire set up to transform the churches gym into a breath taking scene! They even added twinkle lights. I was completely blown away!
After the reception, I met with the newlyweds by a local park to capture their portraits for the day. It took so much pressure off, and we got to enjoy the session without worrying about the time crunch. Plus it was amazing to photograph them again! They are so patient and willing to work with me to get that perfect shot. Great job you two!
Congratulations you two! It was a beautiful day with a perfect couple. I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish in life together!
