Today’s featured couple is going to fill you up with hope and encouragement, because these two were a wonderful reminder to me of why I love being a wedding photographer. One day about a month ago, I was on the phone with Nate and Lauren. They were telling me that their wedding was coming up very quickly, and they were needing someone who was as spontaneous as they were to photograph their wedding day. As you can see, I jumped at the chance to serve them, and set up our first meeting. When I finally had the opportunity to meet them, they gave me a complete tour of their wedding venue. . . their very own backyard! It was absolutely stunning, and I was so excited to be able to create some beautiful wedding images for them. It was a dream come true for both of us!

When I sat down with Nate and Lauren, they were radiating with excitement! It was obvious that their top priority was simply getting married to their best friend. It had taken them several years of waiting for that “perfect timing” to be together, and once it did this past February there was no turning back. Weddings can be an overwhelming event, but it was nice to see a couple create a beautiful, romantic celebration with their closest loved ones. I fell in love with these two! They are such a sweet, easy going couple and photographing their wedding was an absolute joy for me. They compliment one another so well, and you can see how happy they are to simply be in one another’s presence. As long as they have each other, they are good to go.

Their house made the perfect venue for them. It was romantic, elegant, and once they added the candles and flowers, my jaw dropped! I know how hard they worked preparing everything from the landscaping, food, and all the details a wedding day consists of. Their vision came to life and I felt that they needed a shout out for that. When I arrived the atmosphere was lively and full of anticipation, which I found myself happily participating in. I started off photographing their rings & flowers which is one of my favorite things to capture. I thought the bouquet turned out perfectly and definitely built up the set around it. Their color scheme was perfection, don’t you agree?!

The Beautiful Lauren. . .

When Lauren slipped into her gown I could see how ready she was to walk down the aisle to her soon to be husband Nate. She was a breathtakingly beautiful bride. Her dress was GORGEOUS and she wore it so well! I loved spending time with her and watching Lauren take all of these happy moments in. Within a few moments Lauren would become a Mrs. She was calm, collected, and elegant on her wedding day, and I think that was on display in her photographs. Beautiful job Lauren!

First Look with Dad

When we spoke at our timeline consultation, Lauren mentioned that she would love to have a “First Look” with her dad, William. I made sure to carve out enough time for them to have a few sweet moments together. From what I could tell, they have a very special bond, and I was thrilled to be there and capture some images for them to remember forever. Is anything sweeter than a Father & Daughter first look?!

The Excited Groom. . .

Nate was such a cool groom to work with! He had this great energy level, and couldn’t hardly wait any longer to see Lauren! It was so sweet! We had the greatest time taking his portraits, and I loved this picture of him and his mom laughing. He

Nate’s son was the nicest young man, and I had to include him with the groom’s portraits. He was up for anything and happy to be standing by his dad’s side. When I told him the location that I wanted to photograph Nate in, he led the way and made sure that I knew how to get there. He was such a big help!

The Ceremony

Mr. & Mrs.

Their reaction to being called Mr. and Mrs. was priceless! They were ECSTATIC and threw their arms up in the air in celebration. It was my favorite moment of the day.

The Bride & Groom

So I could talk about these images FOREVER. The lighting was perfect and the location was looked like something out of a fairytale, but what really made these images amazing was Nate and Lauren. They were on a high after just tying the knot, and it showed through in their collection of images. Plus they were up for all the suggestions that I had and willing to go with the flow. What a dream it was getting to work with them!

What a beautiful day to be a part of! You two are a fantastic couple, and serving you was a delight. I can’t wait to see what you two accomplish together, and I wish you all the joy and happiness that life can bring!
